Hi there, my name is Sue Belcher.
With over 20 years in the catering trade, including being a restaurant manager and owner, I was aware of the value placed by customers on quality and freshness as much as price, as well as the interest in locally and ethically sourced food, so I opened a delicatessen called Bloomfields fine food in the lovely village of Shrivenham in 2007 (Bloomfield being my maiden name).
The shop soon proved a great success, so much so that in May 2009 I opened a second shop just down the road in the pretty market town of Highworth. We also opened a Deli-Cafe in Watchfield in 2011.
Following recent refurbishments, we now have beautiful Deli's & Coffee Shops open in both Shrivenham and Highworth.
With help from all my fantastic, dedicated staff we have gone from strength to strength. In June 2012, we were delighted to be awarded South West regional winner in the Olives Et Al ‘Deli of the Year 2012’ competition and came third nationally! In November 2009, we were awarded ‘Swindon New Business of the Year’ by the Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership. We have also been finalists in the ‘Wiltshire Business 2011 Awards’ and came second in the Small Business category of the ‘Wiltshire Life Magazine 2011 Awards’.
We were awarded 'Business of the Year 2014' at the Fairford & Lechlade Business Awards.
We believe that buying quality local and regional food supports small businesses, rural ways of life and also the local economy as well as being good for our environment. It also tastes fantastic!
We also feel we are helping in our own small way to keep the high street alive. With so much ‘out of town’ competition these days from large supermarkets and shopping centre’s, we think it’s really important that high streets remain in use and that all people in the community can still do their shopping locally. I look forward to meeting you in one of our shops very soon!
